Today marks 6 months since Lady Gaga released her 6th Studio Album Chromatica, including the singles Stupid Love, Sour Candy (with BLACKPINK), Rain On Me (with Ariana Grande) and 911. The album scored 4 VMAs, 1 AMA and is nominated for 2 Grammys.
The album had an original April release date but had to be pushed back because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The original album rollout was meant to be on of the best album rollouts ever, with 18 months of planning behind it (including a Coachella set, surprise performances and award show appearances).
3 Music videos (Stupid Love, Rain On ME and 911) were released to date, the later being a fan favourite and the song becoming an Trend on Tiktok. The era includes one live performance of those same three songs at the 2020 MTV VMA’s where Gaga also received the first ever Tricon Award, replacing the Micheal Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Lady Gaga won 5 VMAs that night and was the most awarded artist of the night.
The Chromatica Ball which was planned to happen in July and August 2020 was moved to July and August 2021 and is yet scheduled to happen, depending on the COVID-19 situation. Live Nation already confirmed to work on a concept for big concerts to return summer next year including fast COVID-19 test and allowing vaccines people to enter the venues.
Happy 6 Months to Chromatica!
